Collection: Rugs

Josh Simpson on how he collects the rugs in our fabulous collection:

"I collect rugs mostly at auctions but I also have Iranian friends who I originally met through an instrument flight instructor who I got to know when I was in Sweden at an opening of my work at the Steinenge Palace outside Stockholm. I choose rugs that I like aesthetically... and truth be told I always purchase them thinking that I may have them in my own home at some point. I almost never consciously think that I want to buy a Heriz or Kashan or any other type of carpet... more that I like the color or the design of a rug, and then later learn of its heritage."
